Today we went down to the lake so that Stan could learn how to water ski. He has never attempted this before and to do it in front of my family (who have all been water skiing for many years) was going to be interesting and entertaining for all. When we got down there the kids played in PawPaw's motorhome for a while where Austin decided that he could definitely drive this thing around town when he turns 16. Then we setup the water slide and let the kids burn out some energy before the big boat ride. Stan had the best of water conditions, everything was completely smooth and there was no boat traffic out. So he started to learn to ski. With my dad's "one" piece of advice he was ready to go. I don't know how many tries it took, or how long we were out there, but he did finally have a couple of runs where he was able to get up. Now he just has to learn what to do when he is up! So the weather started to look a little questionable so I jumped in for a quick ski (always smart after running that morning). The second I jumped in, the waves started white capping and the wind picked up quick. The water was ridiculously choppy and I could barely get set to go. Finally I got up for a brief run before giving up. The storm hit soon after I got back in the boat and we got drenched. After we got all dry we had some dinner and ice cream and then headed back home for bedtime. What a great Saturday!!
Here a shot of the cousins:

Here's my bubba driving the motorhome (he even ate his dinner in this chair later):

Here is Ryan swinging away as happy as can be!

Austin decided he wants to learn how to ski. He is already leaning back so he knows what he's doing, he may have to teach Stan later :)

Today was the first day Katie and Austin got into the lake water. Here we are testing her life jacket, it completely freaked her out.

When I let go of Austin he decided that his 4 year old cousin Faith was going to be the one to save him. He latched on to her and was a little mad at me for letting go!

Here is the before of Stan ready to go (take notice of his calm waters):

This one was after about 10 tries, he is still smiling!:

Here he is skiing away, wait to go daddy!!

Check out this water I was trying to ski in:

So I was miraculously able to get up, but it didn't last long:
