Kid Free Weekend!

Our first free weekend away from the kids started with a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant called Brio. We shared some yummy food, paid way too much money, and then headed down to my 10 year reunion ice breaker party! This was the weirdest thing I have ever attended. Me and Stan went by ourselves and had decided that we would have one drink and then take off. The place was tiny, overpacked, and 100 degrees inside. So, it took us about 15 minutes to get our drink, 2 minutes to drink it, and thirty seconds to get out of there as fast as we could. Our problem was that we showed up too late, after everyone was drunk. In ten years, I will be sure to learn from this mistake. After the party, we headed over to Victory Park and had some gelato and waited for the WFAA Cha 8 news to start. Before it did, Gloria Campos, one of our favorite news anchor folk came out to talk to us. I didn't have the guts to tell her that I used to babysit her son at the Duncanville Athletic Club back in the day, because she would think that I was a stalker, but she was super friendly and fun to talk to. Then the news started and we didn't just get on the news once, and oh no not twice, but three times! And if you want to borrow the tape we have it, it was our 15 seconds of fame on our favorite program. Yes we are probably losers, but hey we had a good time. My disappointment was not having Pete Delkus there, my weatherman idol. Maybe next time Pete, maybe next time!! And don't think our night ended there...we headed to a midnight movie of "The Love Guru" and got home after 2AM. Then of course, internal time clocks made us wake up at 7 the next morning, even with no kids.
